General Manager

Brian begins his fourth season with the Bombers and third as General Manager. In his first season as General Manger, the Bombers increased their attendance by 49% (largest NWL increase since 2002), number of wins by 27 games (largest increase in NWL history) and won the teams first Northwoods League Championship to complete the best season in franchise history. During his collegiate career, Brian played baseball for the Ohio University Bobcats and Columbus State Cougars where he was a 1st team athletic and academic All-American. He then pursued a professional baseball career with the Chillicothe Paints in the Frontier League for two seasons. Brian also spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Capital University Crusaders in Columbus, Ohio. After his baseball career, Brian received a Masters of Business Administration in 2008 then a Masters in Sports Administration and Facility Management in 2009 from Ohio University. During that time, Brian served as the Assistant General Manager for the Southern Ohio Copperheads Baseball team in the Great Lakes League. More recently, Brian spent two seasons working for the Ripken Baseball Group in the front office of the Augusta GreenJackets and Aberdeen Ironbirds.

Anthony begins his first season with the Bombers after being appointed AGM in October of 2012. Anthony has worked in Major League Baseball with the Boston Red Sox, in Minor League Baseball with the Hagerstown Suns, and just recently in Collegiate Summer Baseball with the North Shore Navigators. Iovieno grew up overseas in Vienna, Austria where he enjoyed traveling to and competing against baseball teams from across Europe, Asia and parts of Africa. Following high school, Anthony returned to the states to attend Clark University, located in Worcester, MA where he majored in Government and International Relations. Anthony then began his baseball career with the Boston Red Sox, and was with the team during the 2007 World Championship season. In addition to the Red Sox, Anthony has also worked with the Hagerstown Suns (South Atlantic League) as the Director of Operations and Food & Beverage, and most recently as the AGM for the North Shore Navigators (FCBL). |

Director of Business Development

Darkey begins his 2nd season with the Battle Creek Bombers. Darkey received his Bachelors Degree from Davenport University, where he majored in marketing and minored in management and communications. Darkey’s most recent position was as the Group Sales Coordinator at Kellog Arena, where he coordinated and oversaw all types of ticket sales for the sporting events at Kellogg Arena. Previous to that, Darkey was the Vice President and General Manager of the Battle Creek Revolution Professional Hockey Club where he coordinated and oversaw all aspects of Revolution Arena. For five years prior to that, Darkey was the General Manager of the Battle Creek Knights Professional Basketball Team. Darkey directed and supervised all facets of the organization. Additionally, Darkey spent five years with the Battle Creek Yankees Baseball Team as the Assistant General Manager where he managed much of the day-to-day operations. Darkey’s spent time with the Akron Aeros organization where he was the operations manager who coordinated and oversaw the day-to-day operations of Canal Park.

Craig Campbell Ticket Sales Manager

|
Craig begins his 1st season as Ticket Sales Manager and 2nd season overall with the Bombers after completing an internship in business operations last summer. Craig is a recent graduate of Western Michigan University where he worked with the WMU Men's basketball team in their operations department.

Ashley Szymanski
Marketing Manager
|
|
Ashley Szymanski is in her 1st year as the Marketing Manager for the Bombers. Szymanski is originally from Argyle, Mi and is a 2008 graduate of Deckerville High School. She is finalizing a degree in Sports Management with a minor in Event Management from CMU. Szymanski most recently worked within the athletics departments marketing and promotions team at CMU this past year.

Spencer Siegel
Broadcasting

Siegel currently attends Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois where he majors in Sports Communication and minors in Marketing. His most recent work in baseball dates back to the spring and summer of 2011 where he was with the Lansing Lugnuts broadcasting team. This is Spencers first year with the Bombers.

David Lyden
Broadcasting

David is currently studying broadcasting and sport management at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. There he provides play-by-play, color commentary, as well as pregame and postgame show hosting on the Central Michigan Sports Network. His coverage includes CMU volleyball, softball, baseball and women's basketball, including their run to the 2012 NCAA Tournament and their first MAC Tournament Title since 1984. He is also a sports anchor for the award winning student produced and student anchored News Central 34. David is a native of Fairview, a small town in Northern Michigan. A fun fact about David's hometown: it is the wild turkey capital of Michigan and the county only has one stop light.

Nathan Edwards
Head of Video Operations

Nathan begins his 2nd season as Head of Video Operations and 3rd with the Bombers. Nathan completed his Business Administration degree in May from Western Michigan University. Nathan interned at the nationally syndicated morning radio show Free Beer and Hot Wings through 2012. Nathan also shoots free lance video during the offseason. Nathan was key in making the Bombers the second most viewed team in the league in 2012.

Bob is in his seventh season as a volunteer. He is a retired school administrator who is a long time fan of baseball. Bob was a pitcher at Western Michigan University in the late 1950’s and coached at Paw Paw High School in the early 1960’s. He resides in Marshall with his wife Mary Sue. Bob helps coordinate local community and media relations for the club each season while working on development of the team’s souvenir program as well.

Bonnie is in her seventh season as the Bombers Host family coordinator. She has held the position of Athens Village Clerk for the past 37 years. Bonnie and her husband of 49 years, Norman, are in their sixth year of hosting a Battle Creek Bombers player. The couple has two daughters and five grandchildren.
